New Feature: Drag and Drop Uploads for Images and File
Sales Layer now supports drag and drop uploads for images and files, both in the media library (DAM) and directly inside product image fields. Users can upload in bulk, reorder visuals instantly, and skip the manual steps. It’s faster, cleaner, and easier for teams managing high volumes of product data.
Here’s what’s changing and why it matters:
- Upload and organize faster
Uploading product visuals no longer requires going through upload wizards or selecting files one by one. Just drag what you need (images, ZIP files, or folders) and drop them straight into the platform.
- Update visuals in context
Product, variant, category, or Point of Sales: wherever there's an image field, users can now upload and reorder visuals directly. Whether you're adjusting hero images for a product launch or cleaning up a category, it happens inline, right where the data lives.
- Avoid conflicts and messy folders
If a file name already exists, you’ll get options: replace it or rename it automatically. No more overwriting by mistake or creating duplicates with “_final_final_v2” naming.
- Built for catalog-heavy teams
Whether you're enriching 20 SKUs or 20,000, this keeps asset handling simple and flexible. Less bouncing between tools. Less waiting on others. More control in the hands of the people doing the work.
Why it matters for B2B and B2C companies
Every product needs images. But loading, sorting, and updating them used to be a bottleneck, especially when managing thousands of SKUs or frequent seasonal changes.
Let’s say a category manager needs to update 50 products with new images from a supplier. Before: open DAM, upload each image, assign manually. Now: drop the files directly into the catalog view, reorder them on the spot, and it’s ready to go.
This update helps teams:
- Upload and organize visual content in a fraction of the time
- Keep catalogs updated without waiting on design or IT
- Eliminate errors and duplication from image handling
- Respond faster to market needs without touching external tools
This release gives teams the flexibility and control to keep visual content accurate and up to date without the overhead.
